Back on the trail

After not the best night thanks to the mosquitoes I got up at 7 am and decided to get breakfast. Nicole slept for another hour :) Even though we hadn’t booked breakfast, I was able to get one (but without eggs) and it was a great start into the day.

Just for fun we weighted our packs, mine is at 10.5 kg with food for 2 days and water (0.65l)

Then there was another Kungsleden „start“ sign, a lot of people just hike the part between Abisko and Kvikkjokk, so probably for that reason.

After that there was about of 16 km hiking through the forest to the first hut (Pårtestugan).

Thankfully the mosquitoes weren’t as bad as expected and we made good progress and reached the hut early afternoon.

We had second lunch at the hut and the guys also took a swim. Then the forest continued for a bit and after that the fjäll climb started. Yes, the past days it’s really always the same… forest/fjäll/forest/and so on :)

Reaching the fjäll is always cool as there is finally a view again. Unfortunately this time there were more mosquitoes on the fjäll than in the woods…

Then we crossed the lake and had dinner in a emergency shelter. It was unbelievable hot because the sun was heating it up like crazy. But at least there were no mosquitoes.

Today was overall crazy hot, we nearly reached 30 degrees celsius. It’s pretty though to hike in this heat… but out tent spot made it worth it!
