Day 35: Monument Valley

The Night

Thankfully the dogs were quiet during the night, or at least I didn’t hear them, so all good on that front. It also got cold during the night, so we both slept pretty good!

Monument Valley

Thanks to the fact that our campground was really close to the Monument Valley, we only had a ~5 minute drive in the morning. First we then had to pay the park entrance which includes the scenic drive (8$ each). After a quick stop at the shop & restrooms, we started the drive.

The road itself is a mixture of sand, stone & gravel, sometimes better, sometimes a real shaker. But the views were once again breathtaking.

Only downside is, that there isn’t too much to do in the park itself, so it’s mostly driving the scenic route and enjoying the views (which was perfect for us today :)).

Travel & Springsdale

Then on the way to Zion we stopped quickly at the Glen Canyon Dam.

After we checked in, we walked a bit around town, but it was crazy hot (near 40 degrees), so we didn’t went too far. Then we enjoyed the pool and afterwards it was time for dinner.

We adjusted our further schedule a bit, we will not stay for 3 nights here in Springsdale, next to Zion. Then we already go to Las Vegas.
