Day 38: Viva Las Vegas

Bye Zion & Grafton Ghost Town

After 3 nights in the beautiful Zion National Park, it was time to move on. Next stop is Las Vegas, a complete contrast to the nature we expired in the last weeks. But on the way to Las Vegas, we made a stop at the Grafton Ghost Town.

Was interesting to see and the town is in pretty good condition as it’s consistently restored and looked after. This leads to an interesting view into the past, but doesn’t provide a “ghosty” Ghost Town experience :)

We saw a total of 4 buildings from the Town which was originally founded in 1862 and abandoned by the last settler in 1945.

Let’s go to Vegas

After the stop, we started with the drive to Vegas. It was only around 2:30h, so a shorter drive compared to some of the past ones. As we reached the city we made a stop at the Premium Outlets “City” which consists of over 150+ stores that all offer great deals on their products. I wasn’t in shopping mood, but Nicole took her time and visited all the different stores.

We had over 46 degrees outside, so the heat was taking it’s toll, each time we switched stores. I left a bit earlier and checked already in at the Hotel.

Then I picked up Nicole again from the shopping spree and we quickly visited another store at the Strip. All shopping needs were satisfied, so we went back to the Hotel and then to the Fremont Street in Downtown.

Beside a lot of Restaurants, the street also hosts Artists and, of course, Casinos. We tried our luck with some of the slots, but no luck and we still need to go back home and work our jobs.

For our Dinner we went to Le Thai, which was another good choice. Noodles were delicious and the beer cold.

After Dinner we went back and played a bit at the different Casinos in the Fremont street. Later we checked out the Pool, but with still over 40 degrees outside we didn’t stay too long.

Some days I feel that we never eat a real lunch. Today this was the case, probably because we didn’t really eat anything during the day. So the hunger got hold of me again (~4h after first dinner) and we went to the “8 east” which is in our Hotel and I had a Ramen.
