Day 4: Hike & Run @Whistler

Run

After some good sleep, it’s time for a run for me. This lead to some deja-vu’s as i ran in whistler nearly 6 years ago :) I could remember some parts of a trail around a golf course and was able to recreate it pretty good.

Breakfast

For Breakfast we went to Tim Hortons, Canadas Starbucks. A Bagle & Donut to refill the energy after the run. I fell again for Coffee size medium… Which more felt like a large ;-)

Hike #1 - Singing Pass

At around 10:30 we started on our hike, plan was to head to Singing Pass which is around 11km and 800m of elevation gain (for one way). Most of the trail was on some sort of maintenance road. We also crossed bike trails multiple times and there were a lot of (downhill) bikers around.

Soon we started to gain some elevation and the views opened up.

After around 5km of the Hike, we hit a spot were a crossing over a creek was missing. It was rather steep and all over muddy, we decided to turn around at that point. It didn’t felt too safe to cross and we knew we would have to come back the same way later and do the crossing again, which wasn’t appealing at all.

So back we went, all the way down. On a short stop, we spotted a Steller’s jay.

Hike #2 - Lost Lake

After we were back in Whistler and did a short break, we decided to go for another hike/walk as it was early in the afternoon and we still had some energy left in the legs.

Back in Whistler

We were still missing our luggage so we checked again with the hotel if anything was delivered (which wasn’t). In the morning we called the KLM/Air France missing luggage hotline, which consisted of a nearly 30 minute wait and then a short talk with an agent which couldn’t tell us anything about the location of our luggage… So we were pretty sure that we won’t see it for quite some time and already though about how to get some new camping gear. But then, after 5 minutes back in the hotel room, some knocked on the door and it was one of the staff members with our bags <3

They had better days, but finally we have them!

A short trip to the Sauna was then followed by a dinner at one of the Indian Restaurants, close to the Hotel.
