Day 51: San Francisco 10K

10k Run

Our start was at 07:30, so we had to get up early, which meant the alarm sounded at 05:50. We slowly peeled out of bed and then had a quick breakfast at the Hotel room. Close to 07:00 we left and started the walk down the Market street to the start near the Embarcadero.

We had a short wait but then we already were sent of onto the 10k course. Our target was to enjoy the run and not push, so that was overall easy to do ;-) The course was nice, but sometimes a bit too narrow and we were stuck in the crowd. Still, can definitely recommend the Run. Would love to see the full Marathon, which goes over the Golden Gate bridge, one day!

After the run we got a second, but different Medal (one was in the race pack yesterday, not fully clear why). We grabbed some Bananas and Pretzels and then were on the way back to the Hotel. In a Peets Coffee I grabbed a Coffee and then we went back to the Hotel Room for a shower and relax a bit.

The Art of the Brick

Later in the morning we went to the Art of the Brick exhibition, which was directly next to the Hotel. All of the Art on display is created with Lego by Nathan Sawaya, some of the works were copies of famous Art, other were unique creations.

The exhibition got a good size and it took us around 40 minutes to view it all. There was also a playground were you could build some art yourself. Even though there was some inspiration, we had to pass that up.

San Francisco

Then it was time to just do some exploring, we walked around the city and first headed to the Union Square. From there our next stop was China Town.

There you can find all sort of Chinese Stores, with lucky cats, amulet’s and a lot of other stuff. Our tour ended back at the Hotel, where we went to the Rooftop Place and enjoyed our Mango Cart (found it here again, even lager cans 🤓).

For Dinner we went to DIYA, good Indian Food and a nice owner which lived for a bit in Frankfurt and therefor knew Switzerland. Had a Taj beer, which was good enough, but I think I prefer King Fisher.
