Day 66: Big Island

Last snorkeling on Maui

Our lovely hosts from the Guesthouse offered us the option to use the shared shower after we checked out from our room. So we could go snorkeling and then still have a shower before we leave for Big Island. We happily took the offer and went to the Mala Wharf for snorkeling.

This is a really interesting spot, the wharf was destroyed and large parts of it are underwater now and transformed into a reef. We saw multiple fish swarms there and also a turtle.

Then it was time for the finally shower and to say goodbye.

After all this goodbyes it was time for lunch at the Airport, so we had impossible burgers at Burger King in the Airport :) A bit of waiting and off we went, a quick 30 minutes fly to Hilo.

Thanks to our carry-on only travelling, we beat the other people at the car rental counter and hadn’t to wait at all. We got another Jeep, this time the 4 door version and in White.

We stocked up at the Safeway in Hilo and then drove to our home for the next 4 nights. Was around a 20 minutes drive from Hilo and it feels like we are in the middle of the jungle.
