Day 1: Let's escape Winter! Off to Bogota

Let’s go!

After two short vacations (Madeira & Iceland) this year, we got a nice one to close the year off and start into 2024! First ~10 days in Colombia and then 14 days in Ecuador, specifically in the Galapagos islands.

As always, the first step is traveling, so we got up early to catch the train to Zurich Airport and then took off at 9:25 to go directly to Bogota. This is our journey’s first and most extended leg, after which we have some stopover in Bogota and then leave for Armenia.

Bogota

Wow, 12 hours later, we made it to Bogota. It’s always fascinating how time passes on these long-distance flights. It goes fast and slow at the same time… Quick Dinner at the Irish Pub (what else?) and then on to the flight to Armenia, a mere hour from Bogota.

As we sit on the plane, we start to get tired, but after over 19 hours awake, it is not too big of a surprise :) But now is the perfect moment to fight jet lag; power through it, and we can head to bed in around ~3 hours and are already in the rhythm.
