Day 13: Galapagos
First Galapagos Day
We started our day with a run, where we realized how humid and hot the weather is here compared to Colombia’s “cooler” mountain weather. First, we ran to Punta Carola Beach, which was exceptional and nearly empty, then back, and I did some additional distance around town.
After breakfast in the hotel, we walked back to Punta Carola Beach, where we now had to check in because a ranger, who tracks how many people are visiting the site, was on site. There is also a limit on how many people are allowed, but we need help finding details about it.
On Punta Carola Beach, we had another opportunity to see the fantastic wildlife. Besides sea lions and iguanas, we also saw Blue-footed boobies with their unique blue feet (hence the name).
We hiked a bit further, but hunger brought us back to town. We also swam at Playa Mann, where we saw a turtle underwater.
Besides spending some time at the Hotel pool, we also did Laundry and had an excellent (but expensive) dinner at Muyu.
