Day 23: Galapagos - Back on land

It’s over. We are no longer sea people (pirates?). We are back on land. To be more precise, on Santa Cruz again. Before we left the Cruise, we had a final activity today at 06:00, as mentioned yesterday.

The trip to North Seymour Island was fantastic. It’s a bird island, and we saw some frigatebirds with a kind of Baloon that they inflate to lure some females to them.

Further, we saw some Blue-footed boobies that also did their mating dance, pretty impressive!

After the 1 hour trip, we had to return to the boat, put our luggage in front of the cabin, and then it was breakfast time. Then, we waited for the Bus before our last Dinghy ride back to the shore. Then, onto the Bus and back to the Airport, where our adventure started.

All the other people that left the board flew directly out, but we retook the Bus to the canal, then the ferry (which drove only for us two and a taxi driver), and then a taxi (with the guide from the ferry, he asked us if we need one). And back we are in Puerto Ayora.

Again, it was possible to check in early, this time at Hotel Fiesta. We started with a walk and enjoyed our “freedom.” No more fixed schedule 🙃 But we also already miss the people from the boat 😅

We then had another late Breakfast/early Lunch at 1835 before we returned to the Hotel and chilled in the Pool area. Later, it was time for my first run since Saturday. The run was great, but the heat and humidity were brutal 🥵

For dinner, we went to Dimati, where we shared a large Pizza 😍🍕
