Niš

I started with a quick morning run over the fields by Camp Plum. Then a shower and quick breakfast and off we went to Niš. Nicole was quite excited for the spot and had a tour with background information prepared.

King Milan Square

We started on the King Milan Square, which gets its name from King Milan Obrenović, who is seen as the liberator of the city of Niš.

Tinkers Alley

From there we did a quick stroll through the Tinkers Alley, before we grabbed a small lunch at a local bakery (Пекара), which we ate in the nearby city park.

After a quick visit to the Skull Tower (Ћеле Кула), which was built by the Ottomans in 1809 and originally contained 952 (real) skulls, we headed on. Today only 58 skulls remain, but it was still an intense sight.

Then it was time for some exploring and we ended up first at the Gabrovačka reka, followed it all the way to Nišava, which led us back to our starting point.

Lets go

On the way out of Niš we did a quick stop at Lidl and then drove to our spot for the night. A beautiful parking space next to a small church on the slopes of a hill.
