Time to move and make some progress! First we said goodbye to Fabi, at least for the next 2-3 days, he has to pick up his Russian Transit Visa in Bishkek. Then we started the long drive east, after the road to Bishkek split, we were back on a gravel road. But it was a quite good one and we were able to maintain some okay speed.

The intermediate goal was Kyzyl-Oi, where we grabbed some lunch at the small store and then made plans for how we want to reach Song Kul Lake. In the end we decided for the easiest, but longest way. The road was still mostly gravel, sometimes with small tarmac stretches, but we drove quite fast compared to the gravel stretches in the past.

Still, in the end we drove for over 6 hours, but this was good, because our battery was getting quite low in the last days and the solar couldn’t keep up. Now we are back at 100%.

Our spot is now directly at the Song Kul Lake and we had a cloudy sunset that provided some stunning views.
