We started the hike through the crazy rocks of Bektau Ata, there wasn’t a path so it was a combination of pathfinding, exploring and climbing. Super fun in this beautiful landscape. Afterwards we continued the drive towards Astana, we first thought about staying another night, but we are running out of water.

When we reached one of the few water points in a city on the way, it was crowded by locals who filled up their drinking water canisters. One of the moments where we were grateful how easy it is to get drinking water in Switzerland…

The night was spent at another lake, with a stunning sunset.
