More offroad action incoming! First we did probably the best track so far. Shortly after Vardzia we went up into the hills that lead to the plateau, opposite of the one we already were on. It went up and down and up again. Over fields with barely a track, it was a lot of fun. One small sketchy passage, but nothing out of the ordinary. And the views over the canyon just added to the whole experience.

After we were back in the valley, we had lunch at a strange place. The owner was super grumpy and the Google reviews revealed that he apparently doesn’t like non Russian speakers. But we were lucky and got food and it was very good.

Then on the way to Zekari Pass we did some quick shopping and bought some eggs. I somehow managed to leave them on the kitchen counter and after a couple of minutes of driving they dropped and all but one broke… so we did another stop and got some new eggs.

The drive onto Zekari Pass was also adventurous, from one moment to the other the tarmac stopped and we had a sometimes slippery road. Shortly after the pass Sandro’s car reported some four wheel drive issue, which thankfully disappeared shortly after. But then we reached a boulder that blocked the way and we decided to call it a day and drove a little bit back to a more or less flat spot.
