Bulgaria

Just a couple of minutes after we got up, a truck arrived at our spot and signaled us that we need to make space. He turned around and parked next to us and pumped water out of the lake. We moved the camper a bit away and soon after another truck arrived, it was quite a bizarre start into the day. A little bit later we were on our way, another border but this time an absolute non event. Thanks to the European Union no formality was required and we just drove through and like that we were in Romania.

Romania

We had one main goal for Romania, the Transfăgărășan. Don’t ask me how you pronounce that. Luckily it was still open, starting from the 20th of October it can be closed any day. Last year it was directly closed on the 20th. But I guess thanks to the weather, it was still open. So we started the drive up towards the pass and we were lucky again and also spotted a bear! Just a quick glimpse from the street and soon he was gone into the bushes again. Then on the other side of the pass, we got even more lucky and spotted one in the many pull outs along the way. Not bothered by the car he just continued to dig the ground up. So we watched it for quite a bit, took some pictures and then were on our way. Now we stay at the bottom of the mountains, close to the main road.
