Göreme

Unfortunately the weather was really too bad (too wet) so no balloons this morning. After breakfast we made plans and decided to stay another two nights here, because the weather for Saturday looks really good, so this should bring the balloons into the air.

We started really lazy into the day, which felt great, really relaxing. Before we went for our afternoon program, we did a quick hike around our spot. Then we packed up the camper and visited the “Kaymakli Underground City”.

This underground city was used over hundreds of years by different groups of people, often providing shelter in emergency situations. It was really impressive to walk the tunnels and see the different chambers.

Then it was shopping time in Migros, before we went back and were happy to see that “our” spot was still free. I also went for a quick run in the hills here, which provided different views of the valleys below.
