Yes, the balloons flew! What an amazing sight it was, the whole sky full of balloons. It was really magical and well worth the wait.

It was crazy how fast time went by, we got up at 04:30 which turned out to be a bit early. But then the show started and it was 07:30. After the spectacle we took our time and had breakfast.

Our first stop was then Avanos, which is famous for its pottery. A lot of shops, but also some workshops where you can even try yourself at pottery. For us the shops were enough :)

For the rest of the day we had the plan to make some more distance towards the east and try to reach Sivas. On the way we made a quick stop to dump the grey water and the urine from our toilet.

Shortly after Sivas we found a spot on Park4Night, but after reaching it we didn’t feel it. There were a lot of people and it had a bit of an off vibe and we weren’t sure if we were really welcome. So we drove another hour and found a nice spot at a lake close to Zara.

After our run and exactly when Nicole went into the shower, we heard a knock on the van. I opened and it was the police, who just wanted to see our passports. They then said that we can stay the night and if there is anything we can always call them. Even though I’m sure they just wanted to be nice, the comment made me feel more unsafe than I felt before…
