Georgia
Today was focused on Tbilisi, we wanted to explore the city. But first thing in the morning was a run, we started separately and I a bit early, but somehow we managed to run into each other and finish the run together. Then we ate breakfast at the Tamaristan Camp and went off to take the metro into the city. It was quite an experience, an old school metro, a bit shaky but super efficient. Doors open while the metro is still coming to a halt and after the doors close again, it’s already driving.
We visited the old town, which features many large (soviet style) building, definitily has it’s own vibe.
Nice Building
There were also some special buildings, but it felt more like Europapark and not really something historic. But we couldn’t figure it out for sure.
Quirky Building
We also had a quick lunch/dinner and went to a print shop to print out the Russian form we need at the border, this apparently can speed up the process. Let’s see if this turns out to be true.
Now it was time to head back to the Camp and after we said our goodbyes, we started the drive out of the city. There was a bit of traffic, but nothing too bad. We already got used to the Georgian style of driving, which means crazy overtaking and also adding more lanes to streets. So instead of the 3 official lanes, they split into 4 to 5 lanes.
A bit more than an hour later, we reached out spot for the night. It’s already on the way to Stepantsminda, in a side valley, on top of a hill.
