After 38 nights in the camper (since Istanbul), it’s time for a hotel again. It gets over 40 degrees in Khiva, so we opted to save us the drive and take the train and then sleep in a hotel with a pool and AC. I just double checked and the weather doesn’t look that hot… was Nicole making it up to get the hotel?!

Anyway, the train ride was quick and smooth, it took us something like 5 hours, then a quick Yandex drive (the Uber here) and we were at the hotel and directly went to the pool. First some beers and a small lunch and then a plunge into the cold.

As we wanted to use the sunset for some images, we went early to dinner and then made our way into the old walled city. When we arrived at 19:50, the guard told us that we need a ticket. But the nice lady at the ticket booth informed us that after 20:00 it will be free, so we waited a couple of minutes and then told the guard that ticket sale is already closed. This gave us free entrance, yay!
