We had to get up early to catch the train, 07:15 was departure time. Everything was smooth and on time and a mere 3 hours later we made it to Bukhara. Lucky us, as it’s shoulder season right now we were able to check into the hotel right away. So we dropped our stuff and started exploring the old town, which we are located in.
To be fair, after Tashkent, Samarkand and Khiva, we have a little bit of oversaturation for mosques and madrasas. Don’t get me wrong, they are beautiful and it’s really interesting to see. But they are also all quite similar.
We also used the day to plan a bit more of the coming weeks, especially the Pamir, but also the time we have for Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in general. We are limited by the 30 days we get in each country. For Tajikistan this should be fine, but for Kyrgyzstan we currently have the feeling it might not be enough. But there aren’t any good options to get a longer stay unfortunately. So we will have to make it work. Currently it looks like we will be out of Kyrgyzstan and back in Kazakhstan at the beginning of September and then we have around 4 weeks to cover 4400 km to Tbilisi, where we want to spend another 2 weeks before we then head back home.
But yeah, it’s just a plan and could be different tomorrow :)
