Today was Nicole’s Birthday! So the day was started with some small presents and a happy birthday song from Juerg. Then we packed up and at 09:30 we were on the road to Khorog, our main stop for today and the last for quite some time. It’s a city of around 30,000 people, so quite big for how remote we are. Thanks to that fact there were some good gas stations, but at the first one we only got 50 liters. The diesel situation is sometimes still not perfect. The remaining needed around 20 liters we got at another gas station which also seemed decent, fingers crossed.

We also restocked food, added some fresh vegetables and then we started the drive further south, still along the border with Afghanistan. Along the Panj it’s often not that easy to camp, the Tajik military often sends campers away, because they think it’s too dangerous when the campers are visible from the Afghan side. So we used a side valley, which led away from the Panj. Here we have a beautiful spot at a river.
