Another day full of bad roads and awesome views. This is the deal here, but the bad roads offer the benefit of travelling slow and thanks to that, seeing more.

The road followed the valley further up and up, but first we had to do a small water crossing. We heard it was quite bad in the past, but today it was not an issue at all. Then the long drive started, we sometimes did short stops to enjoy the scenery.

One big challenge for our Sprinty is the altitude, many new cars have issues with regenerating their DPF above certain heights. Worst is Volkswagen, which locks the regen above 2500 m and makes it more or less impossible to drive the Pamir. Thankfully our Sprinter doesn’t seem to have these issues, at least so far. Today he did a full regeneration on over 3800 meters.

Our goal was a lake at 4240 meters, the highest I have ever been. The spot we stand now is not directly at the lake, but maybe 50 meters away. But it’s so crazy how high we are and then in the distance you can see the snowy peaks.
