After we had quite a relaxed day yesterday, today was more driving on the agenda. First we had to do an offroad track, which was quite fun and not much washboard for a change. Then we were back on the main Pamir Highway road, the M41. And it was crazy bad, potholes the size of cars.

But the landscape just delivers, I can’t describe it, but driving through this valley at 4000 meters altitude feels so unreal.

We made a stop at a small house which serves food, mostly for the truckers. But we had a great lamb meat soup with bread. There wasn’t any choice, it’s just a menu of the day.

The road was sometimes terrible, sometimes okay. There are many dirt roads that run along the main highway. They are almost always the better choice, because they have no potholes. But sometimes washboard, but that’s still better.
