Today was town day, we left our remote valley and headed to Murghab. The road was quite good for a change. Even though we love offroad driving, sometimes it’s also great to have a smooth tarmac ride. But don’t get the wrong image, there are still potholes and you have to always be careful not to hit one.

Murghab itself was quite an experience. First we refilled diesel, which we even got from a pump. So no filling up from barrels, but how good the quality of the diesel is, nobody knows… we hope for the best.

We had some good dinner at a small restaurant, then we explored the container market, had some yak milk ice cream and filled up water before we started our drive towards the highest point of our journey.

Our spot for the night is now at 4000 meters and around 30 km before the Ak Baital pass which sits at 4655 meters. Tomorrow we will tackle it, let’s hope Sprinty can do it!
