Wow, the peak of our journey, in the most literal way possible. Today we reached Ak Baital Pass, which is the highest point on our trip and most probably for Sprinty in his whole life. At a mere 4655 meters we crossed it, insane if you think about it!
Hopefully it’s not all downwards from now on :) But the landscape was stunning right from the start today. Even though it was cloudy and rained from time to time, it had a unique feeling to it. At the pass we even had some snow coming down, special if you consider that it’s the beginning of August, not that special if you consider the altitude.
The road up the pass was good/decent but then down was quite terrible. Long stretches of washboard, but nothing could shake our good mood. We are now standing at the Karakul Lake, one of the largest and highest mountain lakes in the world.
