Yesterday we weren’t sure what the plan for today was, already continuing the drive was one option, but in the morning we committed to a hike and that was a great decision. Apparently the largest walnut forest in the world is here in Arslanbob. So we wanted to check it out. We started directly from our spot, soon it went up and we were exposed to the sun which burned quite hot. But after a while we reached the forest which provided some much needed shade. From there on the hike was really amazing.
There were roads for the families to reach their “field”, currently they are trimming the grass and preparing it to dry. Walnuts are already done for the season, so we didn’t see them.
The loop got quite big and when we were back at Sprinty, we enjoyed the peacefulness in the shade. It was hot today, a contrast to just a couple of days ago at Peak Lenin Basecamp where it was cold.
Some kids came by multiple times, always had some questions and were super nice and curious. In the end we let them put on the Kyrgyzstan sticker, which made them proud.
